Extensions program logo expanding to all Campbell Union School
District
Last year, as part of its marketing
and branding efforts, the CUSD Extensions Department developed a new graphic
image that is as vibrant and contemporary as the program itself.
Since
then, we have decided to expand the use of that image as a new logo for our
District because we believe it conveys the DistrictÕs mission more
effectively than the previous logo.
Our Mission: CUSD, a provider of
education beyond the expected, educates individual students to their highest
potential and ensures that they are prepared to succeed.
What about the cost?
This
new color logo also is less expensive to print than the previous color logo
because the design makes it possible to use less costly printing processes.
Also,
in the interest of cost savings, we will make the change gradually, beginning
with electronic media, which carries no added cost. Then, we will move on to
items that would be reprinted regardless of which logo were to appear on
them, such as annual handbooks, business cards and stationery.
Explanation of Logo Design
The yellow star, moving forward, represents a studentÕs achievement
of his or her highest potential as well as the pursuit of their dreams. Thus,
the star has a significant double meaning: every student is a star and the
aim of education is to allow each student to reach for the stars.
The letters that form the word Campbell are in a typeface that
simulates the lettering in many early reading books. ÒCampbellÓ is prominent
because it immediately identifies a specific geographic area. The blue color
represents high quality education.
The letter ÒaÓ in orange and the letter ÒeÓ in green represent
distinct individuals. On another level, the different colored letters among
all the blue letters represent cultural diversity. The combined color palette
conveys vitality, youth, and the excitement of learning.
