Colleen Wright Named Campbell Union School District's Classified Employee of the Year

Campbell Union School District has named Rolling Hills School Secretary Colleen Wright as its 2007 Classified Employee of the Year, the first year that this award has been given by the district.

She has worked at Rolling Hills for 20 years, and many consider Colleen to be "the face of Rolling Hills."  She is the kind, calm voice at the end of the phone line.  She is the gentle guide for the families.  She keeps track of a large staff with diverse needs, and is always patient, with children and adults.

Not only does Colleen keep track of various budgets, remember timelines for the huge array of events that happen at Rolling Hills, and come to the aid of teachers when the copier freezes at the most impossible times, but she knows every child at Rolling Hills by name and knows every family who has EVER attended Rolling Hills while she has been there.

Her skills, experience and expertise are sought by other schools secretaries and by District office staff. Colleen is often asked to serve on interview panels for hiring new school secretaries.  She has helped to train and mentor employees who are new to their positions and assisted with district-level projects, such as the District's Parent Rights Handbook, student data systems, and others.

Llolanda Ulloa Named Campbell Union School District Volunteer of the Year.

Campbell Union School District has named Llolanda Ulloa as its Volunteer of the Year and nominated her to receive the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Volunteer of the Year award.

Llolanda, a San Jose resident, has been volunteering in the district for many years.  She and husband, Jorge, have helped at Monroe Middle School for the past 5 years as their children, Erik and Stephanie, have attended school there. She has served as a Spanish interpreter for meetings and has been active in PTA and on the School Site Council.

Her contributions extend beyond the school site, too.  Llolanda has been active in the District's English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC), she was active in supporting the Measure B parcel tax campaign, and helped the Campbell Education Foundation raise funds for our schools.

Llolanda and Jorge believe in giving back to the community and have instilled that value in their children through their actions.  As the chair of Monroe School Site Council (SSC), Llolanda has added a student representative to the group.  This year, her daughter serves as that representative.  She and Stephanie attended the SSC training and Llolanda has been scrupulous about implementing the guidelines.

District Names 11 School Site Teachers of the Year for 2006 - 2007
