| Her career includes numerous district-level positions, including Interim Superintendent, Staff Development Coordinator, Title I Program Manager, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. She also has extensive school site experience through her work as teacher and principal at elementary and middle schools. Before coming to Campbell, she was Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment in the Acalanes Union High School District, in Contra Costa County. She is active in numerous educational organizations, including ACSA, CSBA, and the Santa Clara County Superintendent's Association where she served as Chairwoman in 2007. In 2008, she was named as a recipient
of the YWCA's Tribute to Women (TWIN) award, Dr. VanderMolen's experience also has provided her with an expanded view of statewide educational issues through her work as a Curriculum Auditor, Project Director for the U.S. Department of Education Academic and Integration Vocational Demonstration Project, and as an External Evaluator for the California Underperforming Schools Program. She also is a member of several regional and national education associations and sits on the Online edCenters Editorial Board of Directors. Born in Holland, Dr. VanderMolen moved to the United States at the age of four. She earned her doctorate at the University of San Francisco, and a master's degree at Pepperdine University. She and her husband live in San Jose. |
