Governing Board President, Thomas Gemetti, called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m.
2. ADOPT AGENDA

Rationale:
Additions to the agenda:  Items may be added to the agenda in the event an emergency exists (majority vote), or the need to take action arises after posting of the agenda (two-thirds vote of the Board), or by unanimous vote of those present if less than full Board.

Rationale:
(Pursuant to Govt. Code 54954.3(a), members of the public will be afforded an opportunity to directly address the Board on any item noticed on this Special Meeting Agenda before or during the Board's consideration of that item.  The law does not permit board action on any item not on the agenda, and restricts public comment at Special Meetings to items noticed on the Meeting's agenda.  members of the Public wishing to address the Board are requested to submit a form provided for that purpose in the lobby prior to addressing the Board.  In order to complete the business of the meeting in a timely manner, the normal time allotted is 3 minutes per speaker.  The board may use its discretion in differentiating from this time limit.)

4. ACTION ITEMS - REGULAR AGENDA

4.1. Field Trip Request: Campbell Middle School Band Students to Music Festival, Great America

Rationale:


Students in the Campbell Middle School music program will have the opportunity to play a concert before a panel of judges. They will receive tapes of judge comments to be discussed following the trip and a score/trophy based on their skill level. Following the music festival, students will be rewarded with a day at Great America.

Chaperone Ratio: 1:6

The students will be chaperoned by Kathleen Krafka, Campbell Middle School Music Instructor and parents.

Transportation:

Transportation will be by district bus. The bus will be funded by the CMS Music Boosters Club.

Motion

Approve the field trip request for approximately forty-three seventh and eight grade students from Campbell Middle School to participate in the "Music in the Park" festival ceremony that will begin at Santa Teresa High School and end at Great America Amusement Park in Santa Clara on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

5. SPECIAL SESSION

Rationale:

The Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and the Administrator of Data, Equity and Assessment will present an overview of the iReady data for the 2017-2018 school year.  This data and projected implications to the state SBAC testing will be discussed. 



 
Minutes:
Assistant Superintendent Instructional Services, Whitney Holton; Administrator Equity Assessment & Accountability, April Mouton and ELD Coordinator, Denise Kilpatrick presented a update on the English Language Arts and Math I-Ready student data to the Governing Board.
