Governing Board President Cohen called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

The Governing Board convened to closed session at 5:31 p.m. Associate Superintendent, Shelly Viramontez, joined the meeting at 5:31 p.m. for closed session.

3. FLAG SALUTE

Minutes:

The Governing Board reconvened to regular session at 6:15 p.m.

Due to a prior commitment, Associate Superintendent Shelly Viramontez left the meeting at 6:15 p.m.

Rationale:
(Pursuant to Govt. Code 54954.3(a), members of the public will be afforded an opportunity to directly address the Board on any item noticed on this Special Meeting Agenda before or during the Board's consideration of that item. The law does not permit board action on any item not on the agenda, and restricts public comment at Special Meetings to items noticed on the Meeting's agenda. members of the Public wishing to address the Board are requested to submit a form provided for that purpose in the lobby prior to addressing the Board. In order to complete the business of the meeting in a timely manner, the normal time allotted is 3 minutes per speaker. The board may use its discretion in differentiating from this time limit.)

6. GOVERNING BOARD CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT

Rationale:
The Governing Board will interview applicants for one vacant Governing Board seat. At the conclusion of the interview process, the Governing Board may select a finalist to fill the Board vacancy. Twenty-five (25) minutes is allotted for each interview, including a candidate opening statement not to exceed five (5) minutes. Board members may ask individual questions other than those listed. Upon Board review of the interview schedule and process, President Cohen commenced the interview of candidates for the vacancy created by the resignation of Board Member Juliet Tiffany-Morales, effective end of business day on March 10, 2016. 7. PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT

Rationale:

Governing Board Provisional Appointment to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Juliet Tiffany-Morales; resignation effective at end of business day March 10, 2016.
