I teach science because I love science. Science explains how our world works, and makes sense of all the wonder in the world. It is also the foundation for improving the quality of life for all of us, with advancements in computer technology and medical research on the human genome just to start the conversation.
I love to read, especially about science. I once joked to my students that over the summer I read five books: four on science (the fabric of space-time, black holes, evolution) and one was about vampires - because I also enjoy the endless possibilities and intrigue of science fiction.
I also enjoy many different types of music. I have a ridiculously large collection of rock and pop, blues (love blues guitar!), country, folk, a little rap, classic rock of the 70's, jazz and even Elvis and Sinatra. I enjoy how you can get lost in the emotion of music. I read a couple books about the connection between music, emotion and the human brain - fascinating stuff!
I prefer for parents to email me, but you are also welcome to leave me a phone message. I have a new class website, but don't look for me on Facebook.
Happily married for more than 30 years with 3 awesome kids :)
