STEAM with Montalvo Art

Second graders learn to think like artists while learning science, social studies, math and language arts.

STEM education—science, technology, engineering and mathematics—is a popular topic in Silicon Valley and the nation. Through a partnership with Montalvo Arts Center's Teaching Artists program, Campbell Union School District has added an "A" (for Art) to the formula and created STEAM.

Teaching Artists work closely with students and teachers for a multi-week period to design and implement lesson plans focusing on multidisciplinary creativity and transparent curiosity, all based in the arts. Teaching Artists are committed to the belief that the arts are ideally suited to teach just about any subject.
