Bus Eligibility
General Education busing is only provided to students who live within specific boundary zones (Note: five students may be needed to create/add a bus stop to a route):
Monroe Middle School:
* Students living in the Blackford or Sherman Oaks attendance areas.
* Students in the Lynhaven attendance area living West of San Tomas Expressway and/or North of Stevens Creek Blvd.
Lynhaven Elementary School:
*Students living West of San Tomas Expressway and/or North of Stevens Creek Blvd.
*Students living East of Highway 17.

Bus Applications & Key Deadlines
General Education Bus Pass Applications:
Applications are received and payment can be made via cash, check, or money order in person at the Transportation Office. Mailing is also an option.
To guarantee bus service on the first day of school (Wednesday, August 19, 2026):
Submit your completed application and full payment to the Transportation Department by Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 2:30 PM.
Applications submitted after Friday, August 14, 2026 (at 3:00 PM):
Bus service will begin on Monday, August 24, 2026. You will receive an email confirmation with your student's bus route details and official start date.
Free Transportation Applications
If you are applying for income-qualified free transportation, please complete the following steps:
1. Complete both required application forms.
2. Schedule an In-Person Appointment (link) to review and submit your required documentation. Note: In-person appointments are strictly required for document verification. Appointment Dates: Monday, August 3 – Friday, August 14, 2026.
3. If applying after August 14, please call the Transportation Office directly to schedule your appointment.
Important: Families must provide their own student transportation to and from school until their appointment is completed and official bus service is approved and scheduled.
Special Education Transportation
If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and participates in a Special Education Program, please contact the CUSD Special Education Department directly to determine eligibility and arrange transportation services.
