State Test Results Mailed to Parents
The individual results of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) that our grade 3-8 students took last spring are in the mail.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) program replaced the 14-year-old Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) tests a couple of years ago. The results are one of several ways we assess student achievement.
Our teachers use multiple measures every day to see how well students are grasping the State’s academic standards. They gauge students’ academic progress through classroom observation, performance on tasks, and homework. State and District assessments are one of the multiple measures used to demonstrate student progress. They help teachers and parents know whether students are on track for college and career success.
We mailed each student's individual CAASP report to parents in the last few days. The California Department of Education provides a video, in English and Spanish, for parents who want to know more about the reports. You can also make an appointment to discuss the report with your child's teacher.
