State Releases Assessment Results
Scores reflect a "snapshot" of progress on meeting standards.
"The recent California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) scores reflect a ‘snapshot' in time of our progress towards mastering the Common Core State Standards, but they don’t tell the whole story,” said CUSD Superintendent Eric Andrew. “We are disaggregating these results and reviewing our other assessment data to pinpoint where we need to bolster our instructional practice and ensure that all of our students succeed.”
He added that schools start this year with the newly adopted curriculum in our classrooms, 1-to-1 technology in nearly all grades, and students who are energized by the project-based learning we are able to provide through community partnerships. "We are going to leap ahead this year,” he said.
As of September 14th, the testing company is shipping the individual student reports to the district office. As soon as we receive them we will mail them to parents. More information about the State assessments and a link to the data is available on our assessment web page.
On September 8, the State Board of Education approved key elements of a new accountability system that evaluates schools and districts in 10 areas critical to student performance. Read the news release.
