RAFT Science Mentor and RAFT Fellow - Resource Area For Teaching, San Jose, CA

About me:

I use the avatar above so that in our Technology classes, student know that it is my page, whether Twitter, Websites or other social media.

I teach 5th-8th grade Tech/Intro2STEAM, and Video Production/Broadcasting classes. I have been a MERIT and RAFT fellow, which included over 100 hours of training, mentoring and project/curriculum design.

I am currently the technology teacher at Monroe Middle School. I have been in the Campbell Union School District for several years, and have taught language arts and social studies in addition to technology.  I previously worked at a private school where I taught 6th grade math and science for 7 years.

I love teaching and watching the spark light up as students discover knowledge they didn't know or talents within themselves!  I love the variety day-to-day and student-to-student.  Helping students succeed, find their talents, introduce new skills, and prepare them for an exciting future is my goal.

My hobbies include photography, stained and fused glass, reading, and anything outdoors. I have just started kayaking.  Most of all, I am a grandma to my six adorable grandchildren who keep me running and busy almost every weekend!
