FREE documentary screening and panel discussion about the effects of screen time on children
Are we raising a generation of children disrupted by the overuse of technology? Are some types of screen time better than others?
Employers and the World Economic Forum warn that understanding how to work with the most up-to-date technology and media is a crucial skill for the rapidly changing workplace. Health experts warn of children spending too much time interacting with technology.
To build community awareness of the issues around children and technology use, Campbell Union School District and School Linked Services are co-sponsoring a free community screening of the documentary film Child, Disrupted. The film, and a discussion by a panel of experts that follows, will explore the questions and realities behind the effects of screen time on children.
“Parents and educators have a key role to play as we prepare children and youth for the demands of our rapidly-changing world,” said Campbell Union School District Superintendent Shelly Viramontez. “I hope that this documentary will spur conversation and planning for how to work together to benefit our children for now and for their future.”
