District Celebrates 2017 Rising Young Authors

About 140 people attended an October 18th event to celebrate student authors at this 15th annual celebration of talented student writers.

Campbell Union School District's 12 Rising Young Authors are a select group of students whose short stories, essays, research papers and poems were among hundreds entered in the District’s annual Writing Faire last May. After the Writing Faire, judges review eligible entries to select one Author of the Year per school to receive the Rising Young Author award in the fall.

The student authors spoke to the audience about how they came to write their award-winning entries. Their teachers, family and friends applauded their hard work, and the young authors acknoweldged the unfailing support from teachers and family members.  Following the awards presentations, the young authors signed copies of their books and posed for photos with their fans.

Meet the authors.  See their work.
